Senior Project Manager - Contract - Hybrid

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to work in partnership with technology teams and business stakeholders to lead the implementation of complex, high-impact solutions. Reporting to the Portfolio Delivery Manager, this is a strategic role within our Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO).

The successful candidate will manage large-scale programs spanning multiple departments, integrated systems, and diverse stakeholder groups, including internal teams and external vendor partners. We are looking for a collaborative, execution-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can drive measurable business value through disciplined project lifecycle management.

CORE FOCUS

A primary objective of this role is supporting the evolution of the EPMO. You will leverage your background in intake and demand management frameworks to align project delivery with organizational strategic objectives. Your expertise in capacity planning, benefits realization, and portfolio-level reporting will be essential to maturing our delivery capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Planning & Execution: Define comprehensive project plans, including WBS, resource requirements, budgets, and schedules. Lead the delivery of custom, COTS, and SaaS solutions from concept through operational transition.

EPMO Governance: Champion PMO methodologies to ensure consistency across the portfolio. Implement and refine intake, demand, and prioritization frameworks.

Financial Stewardship: Manage project scope and resources within approved budgets; monitor expenditures and proactively address variances.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Act as a primary liaison between business units, IT, and third-party providers. Manage vendor performance and ensure third-party deliverables align with internal standards.

Risk & Issue Management: Anticipate enterprise-level risks, develop robust mitigation strategies, and facilitate the resolution of complex impediments.

Change Management: Partner with Organizational Change Management (OCM) teams to ensure business readiness and high adoption rates for new technology solutions.

Mentorship: Guide cross-functional teams and mentor junior project staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Experience: 10+ years of progressive project management experience with a proven track record of delivering enterprise-wide technology and business solutions.

Education: Post-secondary degree in Business, IT, or a related field.

Certification: Active PMP, PRINCE2, or PMI-ACP certification is required. Certification in Change Management (e.g., Prosci) is a significant asset.

Portfolio Tooling: Advanced proficiency in Enterprise Portfolio Management tools (e.g., ServiceNow SPM, Planview, or similar) is highly preferred.

Methodology: Deep understanding of the SDLC and hands-on experience with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery models.

Technical Savvy: Proficiency with MS Project, JIRA, SharePoint, and Power BI for data-driven reporting.

Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and "executive presence," with the ability to influence senior leadership and navigate ambiguity in a remote/hybrid work environment.

Duration: 12 Months.

Rate: Commensurate with experience
