The Opportunity

As a key subsidiary of a world-renowned multinational corporation, they deliver complex software and implementation services that enable safer, more sustainable operations across the globe.
We are seeking a Senior Project Accountant to join a high-performing finance team. Reporting to the Controller, you will play a critical role in navigating complex revenue recognition and contributing to the financial health of multi-jurisdictional contracts. This is a unique opportunity to elevate the finance function of a growing international software firm while gaining exposure to sophisticated global accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Global Revenue Leadership: Oversee revenue recognition across multiple international entities, ensuring strict compliance and alignment with complex, multi-layered customer contracts.
Strategic Project Accounting: Manage the financial lifecycle of global implementation projects; reviewing contract terms to ensure accurate and timely revenue application.
International Month-End & Close: Lead the preparation and posting of complex journal entries, including payroll-related transactions, ensuring consistency across diverse regulatory environments.
Consolidated Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate monthly actuals to the parent company, while supporting the development of forecasts and annual budgets.
Audit & Tax Compliance: Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external audits. Prepare working papers and supporting documentation for global tax filings and corporate compliance.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process optimizations to improve global reporting efficiency and data accuracy.
Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and review the work of junior finance team members, fostering a culture of professional growth and collaboration.
Experience & Qualifications
Designation: CPA designation (or a candidate in the final stages of the PEP program).
Experience: 3+ years of full-cycle or public practice accounting experience, ideally within a multi-national or project-based environment.
Technical Standards: Strong, practical knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), with specific exposure to IFRS 15 being highly desirable.
Systems: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar mid-to-tier-1 ERP systems is a significant asset.
Analytical Depth: A solid understanding of annual audit requirements and experience preparing high-quality working papers.
Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex financial data into clear, concise business communication for global stakeholders.
